This fundraising effort is in memory of Richard, and all monies raised are going to his favourite charity. Richard passed away suddenly shortly after Christmas. His loss was felt greatly by his family and his friends, and I count myself fortunate to be one of those. I have completed Birmingham to Oxford and London to Brighton cycle rides with Richard over the last few years and being a chunky monkey I needed his encouragement along the way on both occasions to finish each event. Both rides were considerably shorter than the one I'm attempting in June (and yes I'm still a chunky monkey!). I like to think that were he still with us he would be doing this one with me, and I hope that when I hit the wall (after about 5 miles probably!!) I'll hear his encouragment to keep me going (I'm going to need it!). Times are hard and money in short supply. Even £1 helps.
